Highlights: GarPal Colton had a very good showing at our first meet at Pullman HS with both men's and women's teams placing 3rd out of 5.
Senior Derrick Bosch won the Discus, with his throw of 110'1"! Bosch also placed 3rd in the shot put (37'9") and 6th in the Javelin (102') . Senior Jeff Kent place 2nd in the 100m (12.07) and 200M (24.12) , then went down with a hamstring strain. Junior Anthony Floyd PR'd and placed 3rd in the long jump (18'4") and 2nd in the javelin (131'11") and went down with a deep tissue sprain. Junior Nick Robertson place 6th in both the 200m (25.55) and the shot with a PR (30'10"). Sophomore Kevin Knauff placed 3rd in the 800m (2:31.9), and 8th in the discus (66'3") and 200m (27.79).
On the women's side, junior Holly Leendertsen place 2nd in the 100m (14.34), long jump with a PR (13'10") and 3rd in the 200m (30.28). She also placed 9th in the javelin in her first outing (57'4"). Junior Cassie Thompson placed 2nd in the 200m (29.22), and 3rd in both the 100m with a PR (14.4) and the long jump (13'9"). Senior Grace Druffel won the 300m hurdles ( 56.38), and placed 4th in the 200m (31.66). Senior Emma Akin placed 3rd in the triple jump (30'7.5") and 5th in both the 100m (14.78) and long jump (13'5"). Senior Jessie Hathaway PR'd in the discus (61'9"). The GCP women's relay team (Akin, Druffel, Leendertsen and Thompson) placed 3rd (57.66).
Highlights: It was PR day for the GarPal Colton VikCat Track and field team! Missing several athletes due to injury and other obligations, the 5 athletes that competed had an excellent day!
Junior Cassie Thompson placed 7th in both the 200m (29.34) and the long jump with a PR (14'5.5"). She also pr'd in the 100m (14.24).
Senior Jessie Hathaway PRd in the discus by over 10 feet from last week's PR and nearly 20 feet from per previous season, placing 7th out of a field of 18 ! (72'5"). Senior Grace Druffel placed 9th in her first ever 400m race with an impressive time. (69.24). Junior Holly Leendertsen PRd in the long jump (14'2")
For the Men's team, Junior Nick Robertson saw over a over a 2 second improvement over Weds with his PR in the grueling 400m race (56.64), earning him 8th place.
