    The following general information applies to positions in the Garfield and Palouse School Districts.
     

    General Requirements for All Positions:

    • Ability to collaborate as a team member
    • Ability to take directions and work with others
    • Must have constant awareness of things to be done in the assigned work area
    • Tact, resourcefulness, integrity, reliability, a positive attitude toward work
    • Works independently
       

    Requirements for Classified Positions:

    • All Classified positions, including substitutes and excluding secretarial and library aides, must be able to lift 50 pounds and be on their feet all day.

     
    Professional Qualifications for Certificated Positions
    • A valid Washington State Teacher Certificate with endorsements for the position listed
    • Professional appearance and judgment
    • Successful teaching experience
    • Demonstrated successful experience in position listed
    • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, parents, administrators, and community
    • Ability to collaborate as a team member with other staff members
    • Willingness to accept related duties as assigned by the principal and the superintendent

    Professional Qualifications for Para-educator Positions

    • The candidate must have an AA degree or two years of college or be able to pass the PRAXIS

    Salary and Benefits

    • Certificated: Pay will be based on the placement on the Washington State LEAP schedule, depending on education and experience, unless noted.
    • Classified: Pay will be based on the placement on the classified salary schedule, depending on experience, unless noted.
    • Coaching/advisor: Pay will be based on the placement on the coaches salary schedule, depending on experience, unless noted.
